Orson Heidrich (Born Sydney, 1996) is a video artist living and working out of Sydney. Having received formal education and training (BA in Design in Photography, University of Technology Sydney | 2017) in photography. Heidrich mainly works within the moving image, bridging between photography and video. Using these mediums he explores the contemporary space between them and uses it as a tool to examine his world around him.
Orson Heidrich’s recent exhibitions include his solo gallery show Flash Portraits at DownUnder Gallery, Chippendale, Sydney (2018), solo exhibition Camér at Corner Store Gallery, Newtown Sydney (2018) and past solo exhibition Metropolis at Cool Mac Gallery(2015), Kirribilli, Sydney. He has co-curated exhibitions at DownUnder Space in Chippendale Sydney (2018), Kudos Gallery in Paddington, Sydney (2018). Selected curated shows at UTS Gallery, Ultimo, Sydney (2017), Sydney Fringe Festival, Alexandria, Sydney (2017), Batch Gallery, Marrickville, Sydney (2017) Altairzine, Glebe, Sydney (2016) 107 Projects, Redfern, Sydney (2015), Mils Gallery, Surry Hills, Sydney (2015). Heidrich Has also received First prize at Museum of Contemporary Art of Sydney’s Youth Media Festival (2013) and featured in publications for online by Altairzine (2016) and print in Hijacked(2016). Heidrich has also been the recipient of the a UTS artistic scholarship to Ansbach, Germany (2017) in which he and cohort of fellow artists completed an artistic installation aboard.
